MY STORY

Hey friends! While on this journey of building up my blog content, I thought it might be fitting to share a bit about my own health challenges and triumphs to help y’all get to know me a bit better. My health has always been relatively stable! By the grace of God, the only two health struggles I have dealt with have been anemia and a dietary allergy. I truly feel so blessed to be as healthy as I am, but in the same breath I am intent on getting even healthier while working through these challenges. I have been chronically anemic since I was about 16 years old. The first time I really noticed anemia affecting my ability to function properly was at ski team practice in high school. My dad was the coach so naturally he thought I was just being dramatic by slowing down on some of our exercise drills. Turns out, I just couldn't transport oxygen to my muscles fast enough to maintain stamina for exercise because I didn't have enough iron to transport oxygen. From ages 16 to 22 I tried a whole host of different interventions to increase iron levels. All sorts of iron supplements, dietary changes and every trick in the book. Nothing could keep up with my excessive loss of blood during my periods. To this day we haven't been able to find a long term answer to my anemia but we are slowly improving through regular iron infusions! 

All these years, feeling exhausted everyday, I have spent a lot of time researching when I didnt have enough energy to be active. This has pushed me down hundreds of rabbit holes and given me tons of information that I want to share with others! 

I have SO many topics that I cannot wait to deep dive into! Praying this info is received with open hearts and critical minds!
